Most popular gadgets Video Transcript
Welcome to CNET Top 5, where each time we meet we count down another hot CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt. It's time once again to take the temperature of the gadget world. Just which gadgets do you, the CNET reader, feel are most worth your time? We looked at the products you looked at most often, and came up with the Top 5 most popular products. At Number Five: the new Apple iPod Nano--not barreling in at Number One, as some previously released Apple gadgets have, but the new, cool Nano is not overlooked by CNET fans. Coming in at Number Four: the Samsung Instinct. You folks are still enamored of the touch-screen, smartish, phone and no amount of cheesy, bad, faux- romantic comedy commercials are going to dissuade you. Up to Number Three: the 50-inch Pansonic Viera plasma HDTV. I'd like to think this is because I bought one, but the fact of the matter is you don't care. You were into this TV before I was and you're STILL into it. Sliding in at Number Two: The iPhone-- moving back up in the charts. Maybe it's the App Store-banning controversies; maybe it's the reduction of the product runs; maybe it's...oh, who are we kidding? It's the reality-distortion field, and you can't shake it. Before we get to Number One, let's take a look at the back half of the most popular products. That Dell Netbook is just itchin' to get in the Top 5. All right. So, what's more popular than the iPhone among CNET users? What tops our list of the most popular products? At Number One, it's... The LG Dare. While the iPhone and the Instinct get all the spotlight, the Dare just keeps chugging along, wracking up the hits. I suspect it's a carrier bias. Do more of you have Verizon? I often wonder what this list would look lie if all phones could work on all networks. But alas, we shall never know. Well, that's it for this edition of CNET Top 5. You can contribute to what makes the list by surfing around and looking at your favorite products on CNET.com I'm Tom Merritt. See you next time.
As we head into fall, what gadgets are CNET fans eyeballing the most?
