>> Hey this is Justin Yu, Assistant Editor for cnet.com and this is the Editors' Choice winning Seagate FreeAgent Go external hard drive. Now the FreeAgent Go comes in 3 different capacities, up to 500 gigabytes, and you can also take your choice of 4 different colors, silver, red, black, and blue. Now the design of the drive is pretty simple. The casing is dressed in sort of A matte metal finish with white accents around the corners and the sides, and the bottom is actually textured to prevent the drive from slipping around while you're using it. Now there's only 1 USB 2 point 0 port on the front of the device to sort of maintain that minimalist aesthetic. Now our only small gripe is the USB cord that comes with the Go is 3 1/2 feet. Now, with all things size does matter and that's a little bit short so you're gonna need to keep the drive pretty close to your computer while you're using it. Now, this 320 gig drive will only set you back 150 bones, and we did the math and it only comes out to 48 cents per gigabyte and that makes it the best value out of all the other portable hard drives we tested and it's the reason why we gave it the Editors' Choice. It's a great bang for your buck. Now, the FreeAgent goes also pretty fast. Inside you'll find the standard 5,400 RPM hard disk that maintains a read and write suite of around 18 megabits per second. Now, that isn't chart topping but it is still within the industry standard. So, overall this drive impressed us with its wide choice of models, simple design, competition stomping value, and quick transfer speeds. If you need to access your data on the run you will not be disappointed with this little guy. So, I'm Justin Yu and this is the Seagate FreeAgent Go external hard drive. ^M00:01:40 [ Music ]
