>> Today we're going to be looking at the Ultrasone HFI-580 Headphones. The HFI-580's are a closed-back pair of headphones, meaning that they block out the majority of the sound around you. They also do a pretty good job of preventing people from hearing what you're listening to as well. They're good for in bed or late night listening, anytime you don't want people hearing what's going on. The Headphones also fold up nicely and fit snuggly in the included carrying bag that they come with. All included is a fifteen-foot cable. It's great for listening to a stereo from across the room. We find that the 580's are really comfortable. In terms of sound quality, we felt the 580's performed well above average. There's an incredible amount of base that these guys have to offer. It's actually even overpowering at sometimes. For this we really don't recommend you using your 580's with something like an iPod. For a pair of headphones that do sound great with your iPod, definitely check out the Step Up Ultrasone HFI-2200's.

The good: Full-size, closed-back headphones; supercomfortable; block outside noise; fold for compact storage; tremendous bass power; above-average sound quality.
The bad: Bass can be a bit overpowering on some CDs; not the best headphones for iPod listening.
The bottom line: Ultrasone's full-size closed-back HFI-580 headphones create a private listening space between your ears.
