>> What everyone loves about London's famed black cabs is the amount of space they have. What no one likes about any cab is the emissions. There are so many of them in the city, the all belching stuff. That's why cities like New York are scrambling to replace all their cabs with hybrids, but that's a baby step compared to this. A pure electric cab. Now this guy here is built on a Peugeot platform, but it's the powertrain that matters. Company in Scotland called Allied makes this E7 powertrain, 60-mile top speed, 100-mile range, 6-hour charge to get fully top dock, so is this gonna revolutionize London's black cabs -- no. Not approved for use in London because it won't make a turn in 25-feet to fit in those little tiny ancient roads, but other cities in UK will be getting it and perhaps other countries. Something the drivers will like is an airbag, which current black cabs don't have. Something drivers won't like is the price, 40,000 Pounds for this guy compared to about 35,000 for a black cab today, about a $10,000 difference.
