>> Viacom has agreed to let Google mask its user data before the company hands it over in their copyright violation case. Yesterday we talked about the fact that Viacom wants employee records from YouTube and Google doesn't wanna hand it over. Well, now the company says that it will hand the records over, but they'll be anonymous, so they'll see activity logs, but not from specific people. Seems fair enough. In other Google news, the company has launched the Google Election Video Search Gadget, which is Google's term for Widget. It allows users to search for specific political speeches by keywords and phrases. Google used its speech recognition technology to transcribe videos from YouTube's politicians channel and index and you can find this at iGoogle.com. eBay may be responsible for filtering Louis Vuitton items from its site, but it is not responsible for items from Tiffany's. The jeweler lost a lawsuit it had brought against the online auction site in a federal court on Monday. The Judge ruled that eBay cannot be forced to police sale items for counterfeit because it is the "trademark owner's burden to police its mark." This is interesting because eBay does have to filter items in Europe now because of Louis Vuitton case. I would advise them to start some filtrating anyways, so they just stop wasting money on lawsuits. Guns N' Roses has been working on a new album for over a decade. The New York Times is reporting that will see the fruit of that labor on Rock Band soon. The group will release one track from the new album on Rock Band 2 in September. The song will be called Shackler's Revenge from the album Chinese Democracy. My Rock Band Theory proved yet again. You'll soon be able to stream movies from Netflix on the Xbox. Microsoft made this deal official when it announced at the E3 Conference yesterday. Netflix has over 10,000 movies and TV episodes, which will be available on Xbox Live in the Fall -- a big win for Netflix in my opinion. The Xbox is also getting new games including something called Lips, which is a karaoke game that incorporates a microphone. This office may never be the same. Warner Brothers is slashing the price of Blu-ray disc to as little as $11. This is an important move especially considering the fact that Blu-ray is still struggling to take off as it competes with High-Definition digital downloads. I mean, think about it, why would you buy a Blu-ray disc for $30 when you can download the movie for around 10? A price cut is imperative. We'll soon see Blu-ray titles from Warner's, such as Shining, Enter the Dragon and I Am Legend starting in the Fall. Radio Has New Video is very cool. It was shot without any cameras at all. The band was captured on a 3D image video that used two-scanning technology from a company called Geometric informatics and a company called Velodyne. The video was produced with 64 rotating lasers that shot in a 360 degree radius 900 times per minute. It's very cool to watch and the song called The House of Cards is pretty sweet too. The video and the documentary about the technology can be found at code.google.com/radio. The Brits are about to get much faster broadband that's because British Telecom is investing 1.5 Billion Pounds -- that's 3 Billion dollars to us Americans to fibre broadband. The network will reach up to 10 million U.K homes by 2012. Reuters points out that this is Britain's largest ever investment in super fast broadband, which will deliver speeds of up to a 100 megabytes per second. Nintendo announced an ad-on for the Wiimote called Wii Motion Plus. It's supposed to make the Wii faster and more accurate for games that you play in 3D. Nintendo said it provides, "Comprehensive tracking of the player's arm position and orientation providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion." As of Loaded filming pricing and the release date are still unknown. In other Wii news, Logitech announced a new Nintendo approved wireless keyboard for the console. It works from up to 30 feet away and comes with dedicated buttons for Zoom, Forward, Back and Quit. It uses AA batteries. I think this will be great not only for games, but also for Opera browsing. If you've ever tried to navigate the Web with the Wiimote, you know, it isn't the most satisfying experience. The keyboard will cost $49. It's easy to forget the Treo these days with all the iPhone and Blackberry news, but there is a new Palm device on the market. The Treo 800W was unveiled on Monday and it runs on Sprint.
