First Look: Dream Aquarium Screensaver Dek: Mellow out with a screensaver that puts the tools to build a very realistic-looking aquarium in your hands. ### Hi, this is Jessica Dolcourt from CNET DL.com with a FL at Dream Aquarium Screensaver. Yes, I know what you're thinking, but this is actually a really cool screensaver. Not only is the picture up-close and realistic, but there's a stockpile of settings you're able to fiddle around with. Keep in mind that this review evaluates the free limited trial and not the full version?so we won't be able to demo everything. ### When Dream Aquarium is open, press Enter to pull up the settings. You'll be able to set the placement of the bubbles on the screen?to the left, right, or center. You can adjust the camera view, too, to any number of static positions or follow one or more fish. If you're tired of looking at the same old rock, there's a setting to swap out fish tanks. The range of alternative tanks isn't huge, but the quality of what is there is quite high. ### If this were the full version, we'd also be able to add fish, and even though we can't do that now, we can still see what our choices would be. There are some nice-looking tropicals in there, including colorful gouramis and cichlids. In the settings, you'll also be able to feed the fish and set a slide show that changes the tank every few minutes or not at all. Pressing More Stuff gets you a few additional settings options, like how often fish are fed. Pressing 'K' will get you to a list of keyboard shortcuts for all the settings we just talked about. ### When you're not tweaking the settings, you can kick back and watch this impressively photorealistic scene swim by, just as relaxing as the real thing. Dream Aquarium screensaver is about $20, but you can try it out for free from Download.com. I'm Jessica Dolcourt. This is Dream Aquarium Screensaver. ### BLOG:
If you're the clenched-up stresser who finds it hard to relax, experts suggest investing in an aquarium. Watching the fishies swim by is considered a peaceful, soothing pastime. But are you really going to cart fish and the whole get-up to the office? Roll up your sleeves to siphon out the water into your garbage can? Move the tank to your coworkers' desk when your office is locked over vacation? While undersea watching might do the trick at home, for the office, a screen saver like Dream Aquarium Screensaver is a heck of a lot more practical. It works, too. You know how I know? It's taken me 3 hours to write this post?
