FrostWire Video Transcript
>> [ music ] Welcome to another CNET download dot com first look video. I'm Seth Rosenblatt and today we're taking a peak at FrostWire, a peer to peer file sharing client. FrostWire is a fork of the LimeWire's source code and as such it functions pretty much exactly the same. When you search for a file using FrostWire you get results from LimeWire and vice versa. There are a few changes that might make FrostWire more appealing. Since the code is actually based on the paid version of LimeWire, LimeWire Pro, FrostWire users don't have to worry about simultaneous download restrictions or advertisements. And you can see that the interface is changed from LimeWire's green to a cool blue. Tabs have rounded corners, connections monitors are outgoing and incoming connections by host name but also provides bandwidth information, the vendor, and the version being used. There's also a built in community chat. Since it's a newer program, don't be surprised if you encounter some bugs in FrostWire. And watch out for the ask toolbar which comes bundled with the main program. You can opt out during installation. So except for minor tweeks and the lack of ads, FrostWire and LimeWire are practically the same. Thanks for watching, this is first look video at FrostWire and remember, don't download anything I wouldn't download. I'm Seth Rosenblatt for download dot com. [ music ]
