>> Hi, I'm Michelle Thatcher with CNET.com here at CES 2008, hiding out behind the Lenovo [assumed spelling] Idea Pad Y710. Now Lenovo's better known for making business laptops, the ThinkPad is their flagship brand. Idea Pad is actually the first line that they're introducing for home users and consumers. Now the first indication of that is evident on the lid. As I twist it around here you can see the Lenovo logo actually lights up. There's little flashing LEDs, the logo and along the sides down here, just to give it a little extra pizzazz for the home user. Now there's a lot of multimedia and entertainment features in this laptop. That's what home users tend to use it for. First of all you've got this broad seventeen inch screen that's gonna look really nice for when you're watching movies and editing photos. Also inside there is a Dolby five point one stereo system with a sub-woofer. And I was listening to this earlier, music actually sounds quite good, I mean not laptop sounding at all. I was, I was really impressed. Now you've also got their brand new entertainment software called the Shuttle Center, which frankly looks a little bit like Front Row. And a lot of it is controlled through this orange key that they're calling the Shuttle Key, which can control volume, and also can help you toggle between these light touch keys across the top. So you can control all of your media and launch various programs from the light touch keys. And of course it being a Lenovo, it has this fabulous Lenovo ThinkPad like keyboard which we all love, those of us who like to type. And a really broad touch pad. It's actually quite a nice laptop to use, I think it's gonna be a really great one for home users who just want a basic entertainment laptop for multimedia use.
