>> What's up guys, I'm Brian Tong here with CNET at CES 2008. I'm here in Phil's booth; we're checking out the 42 PFL 5603D and if there's any TV that can taut itself as being an eco TV this is the guy. Now this TV set can save power in a variety of ways and one of the features it has is a dynamically changing backlight. Now this backlight talks to the ambient light sensor here in the front; so let's say it's a bright sunny day the TV will raise its brightness and consume more energy but on a darker night it will lower the levels and you'll save power that way. Another way that this TV can also save power is the fact that you can go into the menus, choose the save power mode and that will also help your energy bill a little bit more. Other things that this TV does have is that Philips is really trying to eliminate hazardous materials so there's no lead in the TV set, and they're lowering the mercury levels as much as they can. Plus the packaging is also made out of recyclable material. So there you have it; I'm Brian Tong from CES; here's Philips Eco TV and for all your tree huggers that love tech, this might be the guy for you.
